Do you know?

Do you realise that if you had all the wealth you ever wanted, all the love (from others) that you ever desired, all the pleasures, comforts, success, fame, glory that you could want - in spite of this apparent abundance - after a while you'll begin to feel the presence of a void, a deep longing. And you will rush to fill that void with more wealth, love, success, fame, but it will never be enough.

Have you stopped to consider why it is never enough?

  1. Although we may have differing ideas about the afterlife (or lack thereof), I think we can all agree that when all is said and done, how we lived our life will be far more important than how much we had in our bank account. So then, why are people willing to lead such depraved, wasteful, and greedy lives? We have become so accustomed to instant gratification that anything beyond the here and now seems entirely irrelevant? If only people valued their spirits more than their possessions and thought of how much more kindness, care, compassion, justice, wisdom, love and empathy the people around us need every day and acted upon by whatever modest means we can. How endlessly enriching our life would be by our noble actions. Sure, action alone is eloquence.
