Renunciation

It is hard to live the life of renunciation;
its challenges are difficult to find pleasant.
Yet it is also hard to live the householder's life;
there is pain when associating with those
among whom one feels no companionship.
To wander uncommitted is always going to be difficult;
why not renounce the deluded pursuit of pain?

Dhammapada verse 302

  1. Yes, it is difficult either way. So to give up desires is the only way. Pain comes from unfulfilled desires and fulfilled desires often lead to bigger unfulfilled desires. To give up pursuit of pain is to give up pursuit of desire. But to give up is not to run away. Pain never goes anywhere. We simply rise above it. The world we live in is as real as the God in us. You are God. I am God. All are God. Who can cause pain to the God, my dear. God reveals Herself when love surrounds Her. Let us feel the love around us. Lets expand in it. Bask in it. Lets feel the immense power that is inside us. Allow it to explode, dear immortal soul. Lets allow our talents, gifts and loves to express this glorious divinity within.
